Descend over 24,000 feet/7,630 meters and feel the adrenaline rush through your veins. Our expert local guides will lead you through ancient Inca ruins on these ancient trails; four days of assisted descents.
Tour Itinerary:
This challenging Cusco mountain bike trip is suitable for intermediate to advanced riders and will take you through diverse terrain, from singletrack between Inca villages to steep Inca staircases and challenging rock gardens. You’ll enjoy enduro-style and all-mountain terrain.
DAY 1; CUSCO AIRPORT PICKUP AND TRANSFER TO THE SACRED VALLEY
Welcome to the majestic Imperial City! Your mountain bike tour in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas will begin when we pick you and your gear up at the airport. Peru Mountain Bike is eager to welcome you!
Today, you’ll prepare for an exciting week of adrenaline-fueled mountain biking. After boarding your vehicle, we’ll take you to exchange money and set up your bikes in Cusco before heading to the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas.
We’ll be ready to ride and enjoy to the fullest. Prepare your adventure faces as we hurtle downhill into the Sacred Valley to your hotel.
It’s Thursday night, and you’re in Peru for the weekend!

DAY 2: LARES & LAMAY MTB
Lares
A Cusco classic!
Today we explore the scree fields: We’ll travel to Lares Pass by shuttle, where we’ll take our bikes to an altitude of 14,600 feet/4,462 meters. From there, we’ll ride trails through the scree and the verdant mountainside, eventually reaching an ancient Inca single-track road. We’ll descend past herds of alpacas and see locals working in the fields, ending in the quaint village of Calca and its beautiful main square.
If we have time, we’ll explore more trails in Lares. The day includes a delicious lunch at a local Peruvian restaurant!

Lamay
A paradise for mountain bikers!
The Lamay Valley is a mountain biker’s paradise, with a wealth of incredible MTB trails. One of our favorite routes begins at 4,337 m/14,229 ft above sea level and takes you along 17 km of unique trails. With Inca rock gardens and technical sections combined with fast-flowing stretches, this route will challenge and excite you.
After a technical descent down Inca stairs, you’ll arrive at the village of Lamay, where we’ll enjoy cold beers at a local spot.
After pedaling in Lamay, we’ll decide whether to explore more trails in this beautiful valley or return to our hotel in the Sacred Valley.
We’ll finish at the bike shop to clean and repair our bikes for the next day of adventure.

DAY 3; CHINCHERO/PATACANCHA
Today we’ll explore some of the incredible options the Sacred Valley has to offer.
Patacancha trail
It’s known for being one of the highest enduro races in the world, at 4,420 m/14,500 ft, with stunning rock gardens and tight dirt turns. The course consists of five stages, featuring multiple freeride lines and cross-country terrain. There are several trails you can ride here: we’ll explore the section from the summit to Huilloc, passing through Patacancha. We’ll enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a local family in Huilloc and then hike a dedicated trail to Pumamarca, which will take us back to Ollantaytambo to end the day.

The Chinchero trail
It’s famous for its little-known ruins and technical trails, offering guaranteed fun, lush forests, breathtaking views, and Inca ruins (all for you). We’ll finish with a full-throttle descent featuring loose sections, tight turns, and technical sections, marking a perfect end to an unforgettable day!

DAY 4; PUMAMARCA – MARAS 2 / LA MÁXIMA
I hope you rested well tonight. Today is shaping up to be an incredible day! It’s our last day of mountain biking in the Sacred Valley. We’ll return to the city of Cusco, where you can enjoy the nightlife and explore the capital of the Incas.
Today’s riding will depend on the group’s technical abilities and preferred trail type.
La Máxima
A challenging enduro trail that covers 15 km of unique Andean terrain. This trail demands skill and fitness, featuring steep climbs, long stretches with stunning views, rocky turns, and technical sections that will test your mountain biking skills.
Another option is to repeat the routes in Pumamarca and Maras 2 before returning to Cusco.

- Descent: 1400 m.
Maras 2
offers desert terrain with dry trails that run along cliffs to the Urubamba River. It’s a favorite trail for local cyclists.
Be prepared for loose and steep terrain!
The Pumamarca ride begins at the Pumamarca ruins and takes you through ancient Inca terraces. You’ll enjoy fast, flowing sections as well as challenging rocky stretches.
Nothing beats a few cold beers at the end of the day after so many thrills in the mountains.
Afterward, we’ll return to Cusco by private transportation and settle you into your new accommodation.

DAY 5; DEPARTURE
Today we will bid you a fond farewell and escort you to the airport for your return flight after completing your exciting weekend mountain biking trip in Peru.
You’ll be recharged and will return home refreshed, ready to conquer your local trails with renewed vitality.
